Submit soil, compost, or preparations in return three (3) chromas to be returned to you as both laminated physical copies AND as digital images by email. Your submissions both help you generate landmarks for your soil development as well as contribute to JPI's ongoing research. In addition to this, you will receive a brief description of the image and a subjective interpretation. The more context you provide for the samples, the more useful the interpretations are. Remember that these are snapshots, like a single frame of a movie. The more sequential images you compare in order, the clearer an image you get of the development of your soil or compost. What is Chromatography? Chromatography is a way of taking a "photograph" of the invisible dynamics at work in soil samples. Rather than relying purely on quantifiable data, chromatography is situated squarely in the realm of aesthetic perception. Soil chromatography is simple enough to do in your own kitchen, and affordable enough for almo
