Peony Root-Lemon Chiffon
Light yellow, huge flowers, so sweetly fragrant the bees can't stay away. Blooming just after coral varieties, Lemon Chiffon is early season sunshine. This variety is an exception to our rule of selling what does well on the farm. While the plants are good and healthy, many of the buds form in an open fashion that lets water and frost cause the center of the bloom to brown. A favorite in many other climates, I offer it here without a good endorsement for my own. If yours is drier than mine, you might give it a try. Peonies are perennials, and will need a space about 3' x 3'. They will usually begin blooming by the third year after planting. The roots we sell here have 3-5 eyes and are the same size and quality that I plant on my peony farm.
