a gorgeous turn of the century slightly rosy gold dome with intricate hand engraving, finished with a flush-set opal that's worn to a matte finish over many, many years the swirly engraving feels reminiscent of the wind, which feels like a perfect pairing with the worn opal as is true of opals, the color of the stone varies depending on lighting. it has a much brighter blue hue on the finger, when it isn't back lit and appears more white/pink when off the finger. this is very dependent on lighting, but overall this is not a particularly fiery opal and tends toward more muted hues and flashes unmarked solid 10k rosy gold + natural opal M E A S U R E M E N T S size 7 setting is ~9.5mm north/south on the finger and rises ~5.35mm off the finger at the center of the opal the opal cabochon is ~6.5mm across — this is a standard size cabochon, so if you love the setting and aren't in love with the original, worn stone, you could potentially have a jeweler swap the stone band tapers to ~2.2mm a
