Many manufacturers of bicycles in the early 1900’s added motorcycles to their product lines as the technology of the motorcycle engine developed. The Favor Company, founded in 1898 in Clermont Fernand France, was a long-standing producer of bicycles as well as a frequent user of Vintage Posters to promote its products. The imagery of this poster illustrates that whether the consumer chooses a Favor bicycle or a Favor motorcycle they will enjoy their purchase because of the well designed mechanics. This particular image was produced in 2 sizes, this example is the smaller size. The artist of this image is simply signed as Bellenger. Pierre and Jacques Bellenger were born in 1909 in France. The brothers worked together and have a similar style. Both men were trained at the Julian Academy where they won the Colonial Exposition contest in 1928.
