Griffon Cycles and Motorcycles Large
Griffon was one of the earlier French bicycle producers, but not much history about the company has been preserved. This poster highlights not just the company's bicycles but also its motorcycles. Famous cyclist Arthur Chase is seen trying to overtake the pacing bike in an exciting race at the Velodrom "Buffalo" in Paris. Chase was a British cyclist who was a champion rider from 1896 - 1902. Interestingly, after retirement Chase went on to found a motorcycle company called Chase Brothers. The artist, Louis Trinquier Trianon (1853 - 1922) created a small group of well designed travel posters in the very early 1900's. This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in excellent condition. We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters.
