In the Post World War ll era, Howard Hughes as the owner of TWA was a dominant force in expanding and promoting the routes flown by his company. As the economy was vastly improving, airline travel for business and pleasure was on the upswing and posters such as this were instrumental in promoting this form of travel. Times Square in New York is often called the center of the world. With its dramatic colors and neon signs, it was and remains a popular destination for all visitors.
