Charles Chief Eagle Patriotic Beaded Set-Knife Sheath and Mirror Bag, made in 1993 (GM135, GM247)

This lovely patriotic-themed beaded knife sheath and mirror bag set are the work of artist Charles Chief Eagle, Pine Ridge Lakota Sioux. Both are signed and dated 1993. The pieces are brain tanned hide and are sinew sewn. The entire front side of the sheath and mirror bag are covered in Venetian glass seed beads. The designs combine images of the American flag with native elements in res, white, blue, yellow and green. Both have beaded hanging cords with glass Ventian and trade beads and are embellished with fluffs of feathers on tin cones. Just beautiful! Charles was a featured artist in my gallery and came to Chicago for our show in the early 1990s.  Guaranteed authentic!
