Aphrodite Anadyomene refers to a representation of the Goddess of Love emerging from the sea foam and riding on a scallop shell. Aphrodite was born out of the Primordial Waters before the beginning of the world and into a sunless sky of perpetual night; she is no stranger to the Darkness that holds Wisdom and can be your guide as you seek your answers. As the shell offers protection that allows sea creatures to traverse the dark depths of the ocean safely, so too can Aphrodite shelter and protect us as we scry. While we usually associate pearls with oysters, any shelled mollusk can produce pearls when an irritant is caught in their shell; just as any person, when they feel safe, can turn grit that would do them harm into a pearl.
