Loki Bound Statue Hand Carved and Hand Painted

This standing statue depicts Loki in limbo, bound to a rock and waiting until he can break free for Ragnarok, destroying a corrupted world to make way for a new one. He's depicted as he is in myth, bound to the rock with the remains of his children, tragically sacrificed by the gods to punish Loki for daring to state the truth of their actions out loud during the Lokasenna. His hair is rendered in crimson with a wash of gold over top, calling in his flame associations. A massive snake winds its way around him, hissing into his face, representing the snake which Skadi hangs above his head, endlessly dripping venom onto his face. His wife, Sigyn, usually holds a bowl above his head to catch this venom, but has here stepped away to empty her full bowl.
