Nisaburo Ito (1910-1988), Woodblock print I-165, 'Pagoda of Ninnaji Temple in Snow', c 1950. Signed at lower right. Woodblock depicts the pagoda for the Ninnaji Temple in Kyoto with snow falling at night. Ninna-ji is the head temple of the Omuro school of the Shingon Sect of Buddhism. It was founded in AD 888 by the retired Emperor Uda. Unframed in matte. Print measures 16" x 12". Excellent condition. 10639-11a
