Importer's Corner 2021 Kaapzicht kaleidoscope Red, Bottlery Hills, Stellenbosch, South Africa

The name “Kaapzicht” (Cape View) comes from the fantastic view this winery has over Cape Town and Table Mountain. Since the first vintage was bottled in 1984, Kaapzicht has become highly respected for both quality and value, having earned a multitude of local and international awards. The Steytler Family has been running their 190 hectare large estate hands-on for four generations.Winemaking team Danie Steytler, who took over the reins from his dad in 2009, and Kayleigh Hattingh continue the family tradition. Kayleigh studied viticulture and oenology at Stellenbosch University, and completed her studies in 2016. During the first year after her studies, she worked with Andrea and Chris Mullineux of Mullineux and Leeu Family Wines in Franschhoek, who helped cultivate her passion for terroir-driven wines.
