TASTING NOTES: Complex aromas of vanilla, aged fruit and buttery shortbread rounded off by caramel and a touch of oak. The palate has just a touch of sweetness, followed by spice, toasted nut and oak flavors, with a robust finish. Bottled at 90 proof, this is on the softer side of whiskeys - I'd put it somewhere between Basil Hayden's and Whistle Pig. Not quite as oaky as a full proof Bourbon, but with the right amount of sweetness and a silky texture.
