This wine is made of 41% Garnacha, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Carignan, 13% Syrah, and 12% Merlot. Priorat is often dubbed as a "Spanish Côtes-Du-Rhone", as the wine region was historically worked by Priories, or convents. The monks who lived here planted similar grapes and made similar wines as their peers in the southern Rhône. This wine is aromatic and rich with flavors of baked blackberries, plums, and blackcurrant. We would pair this with a rich Manchego, seared lamb skewers, or grilled eggplant. Cesca inherited the land from her father, who came to the region after the Spanish Civil War, to revive its many lost vineyards.
