
MI -Motivational Interviewing (Simple Solutions Psychotherapy)
This course provides evidence-based & other practice information to licensed and pre-licensed mental health professionals (i.e. Marriage & Family Therapists, Professional Clinical Counselors, and Social Workers). This course is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of motivational interviewing (MI), a client-centered, evidence-based approach to behavior change. The course will cover the core principles and skills of MI, including the spirit of MI, the four processes of change, and the stages of change model. Participants will learn how to use open-ended questions, reflective listening, and affirmations to facilitate client motivation for change. Through interactive activities, role-plays, and group discussions, participants will have the opportunity to practice and refine their MI skills. The course will also address common challenges and pitfalls in conducting motivational interviews and provide strategies for overcoming these challenges.
