Ready to Begin

One of my favorite fireworks pictures of all time. Not just because it came out so beautifully—we had a great spot that night and I was able to tease every detail out in edits. But because of the memories it froze in time. It's an all time favorite because it was taken on September 29, 2021...and if you have a keen memory for Disney history you might remember that that was what we then thought was the final performance of Happily Ever After. And even though it's back now, I'll always remember that night. Happily Ever After was the show that was running when we first moved down here, and with its "it calls me" and "right where I belong" soundtrack, it felt like it was talking right to us at the time. For the final show, the kids and I ran to Magic Kingdom as soon as school let out. We set up our spot on the hub. I set up my camera early and the kids ate snacks we'd brought and read their books and waited. The last show was beautiful, as much because of the show itself as because of the
