2021 - Clos du Vignon - Hautes Cotes de Nuits - Domaine Thevenot-le Brun & Fils - Chardonnay

Tasting notes The Chardonnay fully expresses all its subtlety in this wine. We find aromas ranging from citrus, white fruit and sweet almonds. Aging in barrels adds to the complexity of the wine without giving a predominant woodiness. The nose is complex and rich with fruity and mineral notes. On the palate there is a rich roundness on the attack and the finish is long and powerful. Vineyard Le Clos du Vignon is a 7 hectare plot, planted with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, located in the town of Marey les Fussey. This enclosure located on the outskirts of the old abbey of Lieu Dieu was already planted with vines in the 12th century. The Chardonnay section, over 40 years old, takes advantage of the sun in the morning as it faces south-east. The clay-limestone soil of this part of the hill is particularly suitable for Chardonnay.
