The Red Sox dominated the Dodgers, winning the series 4 games to 1. Los Angeles’ only win came in Game 3, an odd game which lasted 18 innings, a World Series record. This victory gave the Red Sox their 4th World Series title in 15 years, and their 9th title overall. Boston outfielder Steve Pearce won the World Series Most Valuable Player Award.
