"Virginia Tech Hokies dominated the Duke Blue Devils at the ACC tournament championship game at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, on March 12, 2022. With a score of 82-67, the Hokies got their first Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) tournament title in the school's history. Their only other conference title was the Metro Conference Championship against Florida State (with a score of 68-60) in 1979.This year, by winning against the No. 2, No. 3, and No. 1 seeds in three consecutive days, the Hokies also became the lowest seed to ever win the ACC tournament. This victory was ensured by an outstanding defense from the Hokies but especially by the brilliant performance of Keve Aluma and Hunter Cattoor. Keve Aluma secured the lead by scoring 19 points. While Cattoor, titled the most outstanding player during the tournament, finished with career-high 31 points and 7 out of 9 three-pointers.
