Country: USA Region: Mendocino County Type: Red Wine Grape: Pinot Noir This sunny Pinot noir comes from Hawkeye Ranch, Redwood Valley, Mendocino County; dry-farmed (non-irrigated), practicing organic vineyard; gravelly loam soils. Whole clusters of pinot noir undergo semi-carbonic maceration. A mixture of punchdowns and pumpovers were used to gently extract tannin and then pressed prior to dryness. The wine aged on fine lees in neutral oak barrique for 9 months before blending and being bottled, unfined and unfiltered.
