Domaine de La Morandiere Muscadet Sevre et Maine Sur Lie 2020

Country: France Region: Loire Type: White Wine Grape: Melon de Bourgogne Organic farming. Gabro soils and hard volcanic stone, mixed with loam and silex. Topsoils of sand and silt. Whole-cluster pressed by pneumatic press, settled overnight and racked off the initial sediments, then naturally fermented in stainless steel tanks. Aged on the lees for 12 months, followed by 2 years in bottle.  The entry-level from this estate is a very serious wine. For its price, it over-delivers on minerality, tension and texture. The natural fermentation softens the aromas into pretty white flower nose with citrus pith, wet stone and ocean spray.
