Hydrangea quercifolia 'Brenhill' Summer ( June, July) white blooms maturing to pink. Blooms occur on old wood so prune immediately after flowering. Compact plant with lots of flowers! A little smaller than other oakleaf hydrangeas, but with impressively large flowers, and lots of them. Full panicles of pure white blooms are held upright above the foliage. The flowers are quite large relative to the plant's compact size and make this plant a great choice for smaller gardens. The blooms are not affected by soil pH. *Deer Resistant* Frost damaged, diseased or dead branches are best cut as far back to the healthy part of the branch, or main stem, as possible. You can always snip off the overblown flowers on your oakleaf hydrangea in autumn and winter - just don’t prune when frost is in the forecast.
