Front inside page includes one of Fitzgerald's own bookplates pasted-in. Interestingly, the bookplate was designed in 1842 by English poet and friend of Fitzgerald, William Makepeace Thackeray.Illustrated with photos and facsimiles of his writings.Condition: Hardcover, the spine has been heavily taped, corners are bumped and spine ends worn. The ffep has a short note from a previous book dealer in pencil, otherwise the interior is clean. The book remains mostly uncut along upper and fore-edges. Despite the evidence of the taped spine, the binding feels very secure.
