There are a few places you can go and hunt and find tourmaline still, but it really helps to just know where to buy some.  I worked as a jeweler and gem cutter for a locally affiliated jewelry store in South Paris, and I was able to purchase a humble amount of material during those years to save for when I was a better gem worker.  Well Ive gone through a lot of that material by now, and although I have a little bit left to play with, I don't have nearly as much of this rare stuff as I wish I could have bought.
