Tasting Note: Red cherry and strawberry notes plus a subtle earthy note on the nose. Light-bodied with lovely pure fruit, fresh acidity and very fine tannins. A slightly spicy quality to the finish thanks to whole-bunch fermentation.  Hoendertande Grenache is the first straight Grenache Noir hailing from the Franschhoek region. Also referred to as the "abalone" of the valley, sought after, treasured, and as scarce as hen's teeth. Varietal: 100% Grenache ABV: 14.5% About the Winery: De Kleine Wijn Koöp is at the helm of winemaker Wynand Grobler and his wife, Anya. The Groblers regard the 'cooperative' as a two-man family business and run the business from a small cellar and a dedicated team in the heart of Paarl. Wynand does not care much about corporate structures or large cellar teams - his main goal is to be personally involved in the winemaking process. He produces only small quantities of wine with prestigious grapes, from Stellenbosch, Swartland, Walker Bay, Franschhoek, Piekenier
