Strieb's Findling Cotoneaster on Standard - Cotoneaster dammeri 'Strieb's Findling'

Tiny glossy green leaves cover the unusual branching of the low-growing shrub that is a fun tree for mini gardening.  "On Standard" means the plant has been trained into a tree form. This plant was probably trained as a cutting, allowing only one stem to grow from the ground. Trim-away any side shoots or growth to keep the trunk clear of any branching. Shear the canopy back in late winter, and maintain the ball or canopy by cutting back any wayward branching throughout the year. Spring flowers turn into berries for the summer.
