In others, they can also mean farewell.    Artist Sophia Callahan first encountered paper chrysanthemums in her grandparents’ wedding photos, taken at Poston Internment Camp in Arizona during WWII. With fresh flowers unavailable, those incarcerated crafted paper bouquets for ceremonies and celebrations, weaving resilience and care into fragile petals.   In this evening workshop, we'll learn to make paper chrysanthemums together and share stories of the truths, memories, and ancestral or cultural messages we wish these flowers to symbolize and carry forth.    This workshop and its accompanying zine were created during Sophia’s residency at 2727 California Street in Berkeley in 2019.    Ticket policy: Sliding sca
