Pyrite Cubes in Matrix
A geometric wonder! Two Pyrite crystal cubes on one specimen from Navajun, Spain. This Pyrite specimen is completely natural, it has not been cut or polished. The incredible cubic shape comes as a result of the Pyrite's chemistry and isometric crystal structure. One of the Pyrite crystals even has a natural stair-step that creates a cute pseudo-heart shape. On an atomic level, the structure forms as a cube and continues to exhibit this shape as it grows. The limestone (marl) formation that these cubes form in perfectly preserves the crystals. Often times the softer surrounding host rock is gently chipped away to reveal the full cubic shape. Approx. 1.5" H x 1.75" W x 1.25" Deep Need a display stand? If you would like a stand to display this specimen upright with a slight tilt forward, we recommend adding Stand A1 to your cart.
