This fun Ammonite fossil pair from Morocco has been naturally replaced by the mineral Pyrite. The golden brass coloration of the Pyrite and darker tones of the exterior shale matrix contrast perfectly with white Calcite present in some of the Ammonite growth chambers. Ammonites are an extinct group of sea creatures which thrived during the Jurassic Period approximately 180 million years ago. This Ammonite shell has been cut in half and lightly polished to display the excellent detail and mineralization inside. Each Side Approx. 2.25" L x 1.6" H x .1" Deep Need a display stand? If you would like clear acrylic stands to display your specimen vertically or horizontally with a slight tilt forward, we recommend adding Quantity 2: Stand A1 to your cart.
