"My First Hesitation" Print - Edition of 300
Created from "My First Hesitation" - oil on wood panel 18 x 24 in, 2024. And as I painted I thought of the time when I first saw you in the birch trees. So then I went back, I felt my life stacking, solidifying, and hardening into the past. At some point there is no more clean forward. There's a struggle with the past, however small. A single string from my sweater caught and pulling itself out on the branches. I hesitate. I stare until my eyes burn through the wood. Until the birds and mammals flee. Until the roots grow over my shoes and pull me down. This is me now, stagnant. The sky grows dark and purple and engulfs us all. That house, our house, appears and disappears again. If I could be as still as her, a dream could be forever. All proceeds from this edition will go towards Unreal Inc's upcoming independent project. Thank you always for your support.
