It is ideal for several applications: for mantis or other small insects hatching ooths raising nymphs  keeping small species of any insect great for butterflies  This works well for hatching praying mantids. I bought one of these for each egg case (10) and each egg case hatches 100-200 mantids. It is great! The mantids had air and were safe during hatching.  One of these would make a great home to one praying mantis after they hatch.
