Ridge Vineyards Grenache Blanc 2023

77% Grenache Blanc, 15% Roussanne, and 8% Picpoul from the organically-farmed Adelaida Vineyard in Paso Robles. An awesome mix of creamy pear notes with gingersnap, spearmint, and cinnamon. Grenache Blanc is low acid so the Picpoul adds a little bite and the Roussanne offers some of its round, tangy fat to the mix. There is some lees aging which adds nice depth. It walks an impressive tightrope between rich and elegant, and ends with a salty, savory note that goes on forever. Pair with lobster to lean into the decadence, try it with Thai curry, or have it as an aperitif so you can savor it all by itself. Jonathan Kemp
