
Homemakers (cat) by David Hale - 48 piece jigsaw puzzle
In September 2021, Athens Area Humane Society left the location it had been operating in since 2007 and moved into its new home on Mitchell Bridge Road. Then, in November of 2022 dedicated a mural by Athens artist David Hale titled, "Homemakers."The AAHS vision for their new location was “to be a place where the bond between pets and people is celebrated”. As well the Humane Society noted that "in the creative, vibrant culture of Athens, we can’t think of a better way to express what it means to be Athenian than to incorporate some public art throughout the campus." The artwork (13'x 32') was to be located on the north wall of the center. And given that David, an illustrator, muralist and tattoo artist (who has wall murals in downtown and around Athens) and his family have been volunteers in the cat adoption ward of the AAHS as "Feline Friends," a natural connection existed that allowed AAHS to encourage him to "dream wildly" on the mural's design. Looking to represent the magic that a
