
Melody Joy Overstreet - Reverberations
Reverberations is a book of place-based poems and illustrations created by Melody Joy Overstreet. This collection came together during an Artist in Residency with the On Being Project. The book speaks to themes of memory, intimacy, nature, sensuality, the body, and change. The work was written in reflection of the questions, “What does it mean to be human?,” and “What does it mean to live well in a place, together?” This book contains songs of grief and praise for life’s profound beauty, and are distillations of thought that convey a lightness and tenderness of being. This book is printed in full color on partially recycled archival paper and contains gestural images that were originally created with a handmade ink prepared from river water and locally foraged redwood cones.
