Fluting is a time honored decorative element that I have come to embrace in my pots.  In Greek architecture fluting was used to give more play of light on columns, making them appear taller and more perfectly round.  On my pots, I love the sense of vertical lift and movement that fluting gives.  The pattern and texture makes for an interesting play between the pot and the planting it holds.  The width and height of this pot makes it perfect for paperwhites, or other fall bulbs. Handthrown in Rockdale, Wisconsin by Peter. Fired to over 2000° Fahrenheit. Fired-on mineral wash finish. Drainage hole into attached saucer allows for direct planting. For indoor and outdoor use, but not frost proof; store inside during winter months. After planting and watering, the pot may develop a patina of age that will vary depending on your potting soil and fertilizer as well as the mineral content of your water.
