Blue Sky Marbled Work Pots with Saucer

These are traditional English Work Pots, with a dentil ornamentation added to the rim.  This simple shape was the 19th century equivalent of today's plastic grower's pot.  The form allows for easy removal of the plant for repotting.  I've given these traditional pots a new twist by using a marbling technique, combining natural white clay with cobalt blue clay to create whimsical one of a kind patterns.  I make these one at a time on the potter's wheel, and no two pieces will have the same marbled pattern.    Handthrown by Peter in Rockdale, Wisconsin Fired to 2100 F° These pots are porous, allowing the roots to breathe.
