Caol Ila 12 Year Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky

One of the classic Islay Single Malts, and yet somehow often flies under the radar for many. They are one of the few Islay distilleries that also produces unpeated whisky, and though this is not one of those, their core lineup of peated expressions benefits from this diversity. Though its smokiness is certainly pleasant, it is far from the only defining characteristic. Rather, the subdued yet rich smoke combined with sea salt, delicate fruitiness, and finessed palate yield a different sort of Islay Single Malt.
