Sessions: Wednesday, September 3, 10 & 17, 2025, each at 6:30-8:00pm  Outcome: In this three-session class that is 90 minutes each, students will learn how to knit a pair of Starlight & Timber Mitts (either fingerless or full mitts) in the round. Topics include: -Working with double-pointed needles, tubular cast-on, shaping the thumb gusset, picking up thumb stitches, and Kitchener Stitch. What You Will Learn: -Read and follow a mitten pattern -Knit in the round using DPNs -Tubular Cast-On -Creating a thumb gusset on opposite sides of mitts -Holding and picking up-stitches -Shape the top of a mitten with appropriate decreases -Finish mitts with Kitchener Stitch grafting technique and weaving in ends Required supplies: 125 bulky weight yarn (photo of mitts was knit using Vientos yarn), 1 yd of bulky weight waste yarn, tapestry needle, scissors, US size 7 (4.5mm) and size 8 (5mm) double pointed knitting needles, one stitch marker, tape measure.
