This would be worn underneath an open jacket, as an elegant and ladylike addition to a two-piece suit. This would look lovely under a linen jacket for summer, or under wool for fall and winter. This was originally cut from lace yardage and is backed with a silk lining fabric. The back of the vest is made from the same silk lining. This vest would button up the front with a button placket (placket pieces not supplied- consult a sewing book for technique). It has a band of trim along the front and bottom edge. It was decorated with lace appliques after assembly***We suggest using modern lace for this vest. It's best to preserve antique lace yardage for posterity.***You can make this vest from woven fabric by simply cutting the vest lining from both your fashion fabric and your lining
