Diamond Willow Walking Stick

This walking stick was crafted from a length of Diamond Willow (a beautiful and rare type of wood that is formed when particular varieties of willow are deformed by fungus), which I was lucky enough to acquire and work on.  After shaping and smoothing the piece to my satisfaction—making sure to preserve and showcase the "eyes" naturally present in the wood—I strengthened and sealed the wood against moisture by applying several layers of Wisefool's Glaze (a magically imbued wood varnish crafted from an array of potent arboreal resins) and then polished the wood using Wisefool's Oil (an oil of sorcerous empowerment that also happens to serve as a lovely conditioner for a variety of organic materials, including wood.) Finally, I fumigated the whole piece with Dragon's Blood and outfitted it with a rubber ferrule. This piece measures approximately 49 inches / 124 centimeters in length.
