Visible Mending: Patches

Daniela Steiner is back to teach the sustainable practice of visible mending. Join us Sunday, August 10 from 5-8pm This workshop will focus on patching and incorporating sashiko style stitching. You'll learn these techniques for both stretchy and non-stretch garments. (Think jeans, button up shirts, pillowcases, thin or medium socks, sweatshirts.) The general principles for patching are the same for different types of fabric. We will use two basic stitches, one that stretches and one that doesn't. For people with more hand sewing experience, we can get into more types of stitches and stitch patterns! You'll be provided with sashiko needles that you'll get to take home with you. Practice materials, patches, and all stitching/sewing materials will be all provided.
