Amethyst Scepter/Dragons Tooth
Each point grows as an independent piece within a group. When they are separated you can see the imprints along the sides where other points influenced the growth of the crystal. Also of note is the incredibly dark coloring, and pieces often contain phantoms and other interesting features. These have not been polished or “touched up” by humans in any way and are exactly as they were found in the mine. Amethyst is a variation of quartz that contains trace amounts of iron. When the mineral is exposed to radioactive gamma rays, it is irradiated, producing the purple color we know and love. The saturation of the amethyst depends on the amount of iron present. This Amethyst Scepter, or otherwise known as a Dragons Tooth, has a deep purple color and a juicy point. Weighing .58 kilos (1.28 lbs) and is 7.25 long.
