Arizona Hunt Unit 05BS Hunting/Recreation Map

Hunt Unit 5B South offers high mountain ponderosa habitat with meadows throughout meandering through the pinyon-juniper belt. This highly sought-after unit lies within the Coconino National Forest along with some small pockets of private land. The region of 5B South is famed offering trophy big game hunting for elk, mule deer, and pockets of whitetail deer. Also offers good hunting for black bear, mountain lion, turkey, and some waterfowl too. There are also great opportunities for small game such as bobcat, coyote, fox, cottontail rabbit, squirrel, and more. Due to primitive roads combined with weather conditions access demands 4×4 off-road vehicles in order to safely venture throughout the unit. Remember that there are numerous reasons why some road restrictions exist within the Coconino. There are numerous reasons why some road restrictions exist within National Forests.
