Wirra Wirra Grenache The Absconder 2017

Vibrant gold with a green tinge. A complex aroma of lemon rind and white peach with grapefruit juice. The fruit is layered with brioche and grilled cashews with charry and cedar oak. The palate reveals a lovely intensity of fleshy lemon curd and nectarine fruits. The stone fruits are complexed by roasted nuts and vanilla beans and are wonderfully framed by a bright, crisp backbone and creamy texture. Ten months in fine French Oak captured the style and created a wine rich with the classic fruit and spice characters that are the hallmarks of McLaren Vale grenache. As with our other ”flagship” wines, The Absconder will reflect the best example of the true varietal character in any given vintage and its production will be limited accordingly.
