Lacto-Fermentation Workshop Date: Thursday, February 6, 2025 Time: 5:30pm - 8:30pm Cost: $75 Location: 205C York St., Nevada City, CA 95959   Workshop Description: In this workshop, we will explore the basics of lacto-fermentation. Lacto-fermentation is an ancient fermentation process using a salt-based brine to create the specific conditions for lacto-bacterias to work their magic to preserve vegetables and fruits. Using ingredients sourced from local farms, participants will create two ferments: one using a saltwater brine, and one using dry salt to create a brine by releasing the water from within the vegetable or fruit. This workshop is intended to demystify the rules of fermentation and encourage confidence in making safe and delicious homemade concoctions. Participants will be provided with a starter kit including jars, weights, and airlock-lids, and offered an array of ingredients to create from. Everyone will leave with two ferments- one kraut, and one other creation
