What is Lemon Balm? Lemon balm is a perennial plant in the Lamiaceae family. It grows freely in sandy, loamy soils and in the woods of Europe, Britain, North Africa, Western Asia and across the United States. It produces a beautiful, white, two-petal flower during the summer months.  Lemon balm has anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-depressant, anti-oxidant, neuro-protective, radio-protective, hypotensive, and anti-spasm properties.
