Story I once heard that it’s one thing to fall in love with someone, it’s another to stay in love. You can adore everything about someone, but maintaining that admiration through the highs and lows, the tears, and laughter is the part that proves that love is true. It can be terrifying to be vulnerable with someone, showing them the parts of you that you usually keep to yourself to avoid judgment or criticism, but when you find people that you want to build a life with (platonic or romantic), you have to sacrifice those walls that you’ve spent years building. Hopefully, they’re slowly taking them down, brick by brick, with you. When you find those people, they become safety nets and rocks that we can comfortably return to when life gets troubling. They’re the people that we want to share every victory with, every conversation with, and every hurt with, because we know that they’ll have the right words to say.
