  Product Description:  With outstanding remnants of graphics, this early general store spice bin once held “Pepper”, one of the XX brand spices manufactured by E.R. Durkee & Co’s New York during the late 1800s - early 1900s. This hinged style tin canister with a paper label is a rather rare large size standing 10 ½” tall. Much of the original label is still intact although from years of use, it does exhibit some wear and denting that provides the timeless appearance of country store charm. For collectors, it bears the DURKEE Helmet trademark in the center of the canister.
