  Description: From the Pennsylvania region, this early, hand-thrown redware crock offers amazing character. You will love the aged patina on the unglazed exterior with a glazed, dark brown interior. It stands 7 1/2” inches tall with a single applied handle and out-of-round diameter opening. In areas, this redware crock has a darker than usual patina on the unglazed exterior which could be due to environment it was stored in. Early redware crocks are difficult to find and often are damaged over the years due to the brittleness of the clay. This handled crock made by an early potter is a nice collectible and fine representation of the earlier, simple way of living.
