A big abstract landscape, 36 x 36 x1.5 inches, acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas. This series is based on a plein air painted in February of 2023. The deeply saturated hues and rich fog bank were of particular interest in that session. In the precursor studio piece I had incorporated whimsical elements that reflected my own childhood joy associated with this location. This time around, I immersed myself more in the playful memories with lots of line work, energy and a strong California winter palette.
