This beautiful serigraph print was made by Israeli artist Itzchak Tarkay (1935 - 2012). Tarkay was a Post-Impressionist Expressionist known for his idealistic portraits of elegant ladies. He primarily worked with watercolors and acrylics, and his use of bright and vivid colors was inspired by fauvists, such as Henri Matisse. He was able to achieve these rich, dream-like colors through serigraph prints.  <p>  This specific print is a portrait of two ladies in colorful garments. A vase with large leaves sits in the background of the right side, and the piece features vivid blocks of both warm and cool colors. This limited edition European artist proof is number 42 of 65, it has been numbered by Tarkay in pencil on the lower left-hand corner.
